Reply:For someone new to HTML, I recommend Lissa Explains it All (link follows). It is aimed at kids and is a little outdated, but it is simple, well written and addresses all the basics of HTML programming.
If you're ready to advance to CSS and more complex design, I highly recommend A List Apart. It's more of an online magazine format, and they've always got fresh webdesign ideas.
