I would like to start a business in web and graphic design. This might be a silly question but I really am not sure how to go about doing this. For the web portion, is it possible to use my own web server and if I can do this how do I go about getting one set up on the internet? Thank you for any comments. Also, if this is not possible do you have any recommendations for ISPs?

If you want to start a GD business you will have to turn over your work to your client 99% of the time. They will most likely already have a web site and you do not want to be responsible for their hosting. Imagine when your one web server goes down you have to answer to all your past clients at once? Not even close to worth it. Hosting is cheap these days. Choose an isp on what you really need it for.
