How long would it take to learn Web Design?

Is it difficult to learn, do you need to be a good artist to do it and are there alot of jobs availible for web designer today?

How long would it take to learn Web Design?
If you are talking about just websites, the programming part is a piece of cake. The difficult part is how to make the website itself. I mean, the layout, what is needed and what not, graphics, flow control etc..





There are lots of companies dedicated to web designing. It does not only mean websites, but also web applications, things like yahoo messenger. Sure, there are lots of jobs available nowadays
Reply:It really depends on how fast of a learner you are, I personally don't think it is difficult, but keeping up with the new technology is.. you always need to learn new things.





Can you make good living? It depends on what you consider good living, you won't be making 100k a year unless you run a company that takes big projects. Although it is much easier for people to build their own websites now but I think as long as you are updating yourself web design and programming will never fade away. People are paying to update their myspace profile.





As far as being good artist, well yeah because if you want to be a good designer you have to have the talent, but some people will buy anything... you can always work the programming side to it... you don't need to be so creative.

Reply:the are lots of jobs and to learn it and get a good job liek 100,000 a year you need at least a 4 year degree just to get interviewed i only have took one coarse and i know its not hard but unless you are very good with computer then you will hate it and proably not learn it . its rather in depth sooo by the sounds of it of you just asking in the first place instead of trying then i would not try it.


but any thing you really want to do you can do it . also you have to be able to vision what people want and keep the design in your head. and be able to do it i have done some pages if you have any further questions like some examples of codeing and program to help design then feel free to ask
