What do i need to start a Web Design bussniess?
First make sure you know your stuff.





After that get a business strategy put together.


Get employees that will be working for you





Plan an advertising campaign (this is the biggest part)


you need to get the word out about your business.





Get a web site that works well for your clients and keep stats.





Record where you customers are coming from so you can pour more money into those areas for advertising and less in others what are not being fruitful.

You'll also need a good business head, be able to estimate how long work will take and to be able to stick to it, to be able to deal with people to be able to create the site that they want, rather than the site you think they want. And if they don't know what they want (or what they want is a bad idea) you need to be able to explain it to them.





If you have everything else, you need to market yourself :)

Reply:Start with your own web site, making sure it is completely professional, no gimmicks, clean cut, legible and definitely no spelling mistakes. Then get your stationery printed, cards, comp slips etc and design some leaflets and put them through doors and posters in shop windows. Mock up some samples of fictitious names to add to your web site so people can see what your design skills are like. Ask other web site owners if they can put your link on their sites and also local Chamber of Commerce. Go to your bank, open a business account and complete a Business Plan, including Profit and Loss Statement, Cashflow forecast etc and if you have no business acumen at all enrol on a business course at your local enterprise centre.

Well 1st be sure you know how to design and use softwares like dreamweaver, flash, photoshop, illustrator and other adobe products. Then show off your skills to potential clients. Also it would help to have a server where you can upload your sites. do a search for myfatnetwork for that. these are just a few things i can think of. The answers above me are also good.
