I have an advanced knowledge in HTML, none in CSS or XML or any other sort of web design but would like to take a class to learn flash. Is it recommended to know everything else before taking flash or doesn't it really matter?
Is it recommended that you be an expert in HTML or CSS before you learn Flash for web design?
You should know basic HTML so you can place flash plug-ins within a web page, bit don't waste your time with CSS and especially not XML. You won't need it and flash development is in demand enough that you won't have any trouble staying busy. In the future, you may want to consider learning other things as this will make you more valuable to potential employers.
Reply:you should know it but it isn't needed
Reply:You should know all the basic thing of HTML and CSS because not always but some time you will need them.
Reply:I'm a big fan of learning as you go along. If you want to do flash then go for it. If you need it then it should be listed in the requirements for the class. Worst case you get into the class and have to work a little harder to keep up.
