How can I design my web site and publish to the internet for everyone to browse?

Pls give me program I will use in designing the web site, tell me how to start the program and the full procedure to design the web. Pls note that I don't want to pay any money on designing this web site and publish to the internet.

tell if I can use frontpage or/and any other program to do this.

How can I design my web site and publish to the internet for everyone to browse?
1. You need a webspace at web hosting server.

Recommended :: GoDaddy http://www.godaddy.com

Free webhosting:: Awardspace,freeservers,netfirm...

http://www.awardspace.com/

http://www.freeservers.com/

http://www.netfirms.com/

2. You need a Domain Name

like www.yourwebsite.com

Again Godaddy offers Domain names at lowest price available. You can get your website.info for as low as $ 0.99

Well,you can have free domain name like yourwebsite.awardspace.com with free webhosts. or you can redirect your paid domain towards free webhosts.

3. Web Designing

If you know Html +javascript+flash its a cakewalk, but if you are not equipped, there are loads of free web-publishing softwares available.

Here are a few for the layman:

Rapidwebsite

get free software

http://4minweb.com/

You can design a website by just creating a MS.Word file with same name of your buttons on webpage and they'll contain all those texts.Besides, you can insert pics in .doc file too. If you are aware(remember first page should be INDEX)

When your website is done take it out of your TEMP folder in

Document settings%26gt;%26gt;User%26gt;%26gt;Local%26gt;%26gt;TEMP

OR

you can put your website directly by in built FTP on *rapid website*

a4desk

This one is a cool , free flash website maker that you can try

4.Next you need to upload your designed website files on webhost.

You can use any of the free FTP softwares like:

CuteFTP ----just punch in your domain name +user id+password to enter the server by simply connecting at FTP.

http://www.cuteftp.com/

Now can put your website pages ..and you are done!

Note:: Always keep the folder structure of your designed website in your mind while loading it at server.

Cheers:)
Reply:It takes time to learn how to do this stuff but there are plenty of guides on the web.

Search for "HTML tutorial" or similar, they will show you the codes as mentioned above and how to use them.

I found when learning that it was easier to use notepad and write my code manually rather than use front page or dreamweaver.

Once you understand how the code works and its structure you can write very compact web pages.

Then progress if needed to front page or dreamweaver - there are other HTML design programs but they are the most common.

If you find yourself a web site with some good tutorials such as http://enetrics.com/html-tutorial/ this takes you through almost everything.

Surprisingly you can be creating web pages in almost no time at all if you start at the beginning and take it step by step.

If you jump straight into Front page it can be overwhelming and slow you down.
Reply:You can use FrontPage but its awful. You are better off using any of the following;

OpenOffice Writer %26gt; save as %26gt; .html

Scribus %26gt; save as %26gt; .html

Mozilla Seamonkey

Nvu

Kompozer

All are free in more ways than just cost.

Then get free space at Yahoo! GeoCities or Google Page Creator.

Then browse for your .html file(s) then upload.
Reply:You could use Frontpage but you don't really learn anything. If I was you I'd start learn HTML or something similar to that, then use notepad to write the HTML in and save it all.

I recommend searching for a free web hosting company on google, and then pick the best one for your needs. If you want your own domain name (eg: www.yoursite.com) you'll have to pay.
Reply:User you favorite editor

then you'll need a web server (eg. IIS, Apache);

and if you want scripting that more than HTML (eg.ASP,PHP), you need to install (PHP , ASP .net interpreter/compiler);

then put your pages, on you web root eg(. www_root:IIS. htdocs:Apache)

then if you need ftp server, download you favorite ftp server

Then now you have to configure your router/gateway (port forwarding).. just remember the ports your application you are using...

Common Ports

ftp = 21

http = 80

https = 443

etc.....

just enable port forwarding with this port(router/gateway) , of course with the IP of your PC, that serves as you local server..

after installing all and configuring router/gateway.. access you server with your WAN IP.. (eg. http://123.121.121.3).. you should know your WAN IP.. Your WAN IP is Dynamic, it will change everytime it has to.. users dont want to remember your IP of course.. so you need a Domain Name (eg. www.mydomain.com).. you can register here http://ww.DynDns.com so you can get your free Domain name.. that will mask your WAN IP.. hope this help
Reply:This question is a bit like 'can you tell me how to perfom a complete service on my Porche Carrera and tell me what equpiment I will need'.

You have to learn how to do it. You will need software such as Frontpage or Dreamweaver, unless you want to learn to hand-code HTML properly in which case you can use Notepad.

An up-to-date website these days is written in HTML and CSS. It will take you several months to learn how to code these.

Alternatively you can go to a site which offers some degree of free hosting and a free programme on their website in which you can design your own site without knowing HTML. However, if you use one of these, your website will never be found in search engines as it will be held 'inside' the site you are using for free hosting.

If you want a fully searchable website, then you need to use the first method I mentioned.

I'd suggest taking an evening class to teach you what you need to know.
Reply:I think you should do some research rather than get us to tell you step by step!!!

You may want to use notetab lite, its what i learned web development with. Its very easy to use and a lot more user friendly than notepad!

I dont think Frontpage is a good program for beginners (or anybody else for that matter!) It doesnt really teach you to use CSS and XHTML properly.
Reply:The cheapest way to make a website is to use notepad, save the file as index.html and write the page.

Basic layout is

%26lt;html%26gt;

%26lt;head%26gt;

%26lt;title%26gt;Title Here%26lt;/title%26gt;

put some CSS here

%26lt;/head%26gt;

%26lt;body%26gt;

Write things here, including javascript.

%26lt;/body%26gt;

Otherwise you will have to buy a program to do what you want to do. Also you will need to buy web space or run your own dedicated server and buy a domain name. Geocities is free, but has ads.
Reply:a basic web site can be made using Notepad which every PC has in it's accessories, all you need to do is learn HTML like I did.

Then there are loads of free hosting companies on the net just google free web hosting and pick one which looks good.
