How much should I get paid for web design?

As a web designer how much should I expect to be paid? And in what way?

How much should I get paid for web design?
That will vary, Starting with what you develop, The use of existing code or starting scratch... Maintenaince, upgrades...

Normally you start with a set price for a 5 page website and then price each additional page as an extra amount..

But this depends if your developing with flash or straight html/server code and so on..

Normally people use things like paypal accounts or bank transactions..

Personally i work via paypal and use my bank n credit card.

for a 5 page website i can start as low as $200 AUD and that will be because the customer may supply pre-made graphics.. I always develop with html/php/css ... also using the ajax methods..

If the client can not supply an idea, design or any addtional information or graphics the price will raisie depending on what i have todo extra... Then when it comes to additonal site features such as page counters/guest books/email forms/ forums/gallery/security and so on..

I will price each site by the needs, not as a "average"...

If you mean you design a template/page or two and want to see that design.. around $20Us to $200 depending... but its hard to sell designs with so many designers out there

Hope this helps, if any more questions feel free to ask or message.
Reply:depends on quality u set ur own pricessay 10er page etc add on - 3 pound
Reply:depends on how much work clients want and of course what it will take for you to get it done. think about the time it will take you to do what they want. also if you need any other materials like pictures.

Me, i would get a starting payment or get a percent of the cost up front and when the work is completed get the rest of the pay. For a small site I would aim for 500.00.

also be sure to make a contract.

Reply:It all depends. I've seens the biggest range of prices! I've seen designs that sell for $3(personally I think that it way to low) all the way to $75. It all depends on what you are willing to give in your design package and the quality of your work and perhaps how noted and popular your work is.
