Do you think shadydesigns is a bad name for a web design company ?

i choosed that name because it's my name "shady" plus the word buisness , but the word shady means suspicious so i was wondering if it was a good idea to go ahead and use that name for my web design company or change some letters in the name , for example : shadidesgins --- shadedesigns ............ or to choose a whole different name like shadypixel or whatever........... so what do you think ?

Shadydesigns does give a bad impression. Why not try DesignsbyShady. This way you retain your name, advertising it, together with the business.

Reply:Yes, in the business world it could communicate that you are shady to work with. It also could insinuate that you are an Eminem fan and thought it would be cool to have a similar name. I would choose something else
Reply:It is fine - so long as you make it very clear and very obvious in everything you use to brand and market yourself that it IS your last name and you are the boss and this is your Web Design Agency. That will be memorable and that is called branding and that is what business is all about.





On the other hand, if you ever decide to sell the business - your brand will have no value, as you will no longer be part of the business and all the negative aspects of 'shady' will come back to haunt you. If you intend so sell the business someday, you might consider something else.
