What's the best book for web design beginners??

I'm fairly on good terms with computers, just never got to web design.

I need a book to design awesome professional wesites and able to show me how to in like no time. Is that even a possibility??

What's the best book for web design beginners??
No, it's not possible to learn to design "awesome professional websites" in "no time." It takes years of practice and study and requires a sound understanding of traditional design theory, color theory, UI principles, and interactivity principles to create top-tier websites.

However, if you do need to learn to make sites quickly, it is possible to get good enough to not embarrass yourself. I recommend the following books:

Web Design in a Nutshell

The Principles of Beautiful Web Design

The HTML, XHTML and CSS Bible

Reply:Web Design In A Nutshell (A Desktop Quick Reference) by Jennifer Niederst - see www.oreilly.com or most Borders Bookstores
Reply:Even easier, get the free SeaMonkey program (Mozilla), which generates the HTML code for you.

Then you can look at the source code it generated, making it a great learning tool as well.
